Tail of Two Kitties (Knitty Kitty DT)

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing an anniversary card for my Knitty Kitty Digis Design Team project!  I'm still super excited to be working with the adorable Knitty Kitty Digis!  This sweet image is called Tail of Two Kitties.  If it looks familiar, that's because I made a card with it earlier this month. I am so in love with this image that I couldn't let it go!  When I made my first card here, I had another card in mind and I finally had a chance to make it.

I started by white heat-embossing a number of stars (Newton's Nook) all over the sky. Then I masked the entire image so I could create an ink-blended sky with Chipped Sapphire, Evergreen Bough, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks. To add texture, I splashed some water droplets onto the sky. I love how it turned out!

Next I peeled off the masking fluid and coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils.  I fussy-cut the two kitties so I could pop them up with foam tape. You will notice the image contains just a partial brick wall so I drew the rest of the wall by hand. I die-cut the coloured image with a Nellie's Multiframe Circle and mounted it on a die-cut stitched circle from My Creative Time.

Tail of Two Kitties

My colour combo was inspired by Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge, where the theme is G for Grape and/ or G for Glitter - I went with both! I added two sparkly butterflies! The patterned paper is from Forever in Time and I added a number of flowers from my stash (the beautiful bling flower came from Flourish with a Bling - thank you, Lucy!).  The die-cut leaves are Cheery Lynn Flourish Leaf Strip. The sentiment is an older wood-mounted stamp from A Muse Artstamps and I heat-embossed it in white and hand-cut into a banner shape. To finish off the card, I added two buttons and a "Made with Love" heart charm.

Happy Anniversary Kitties

Hi, everyone!  I'm back again today! This time I'm sharing an anniversary card.  I have a couple of upcoming anniversaries in my family - they all expect to receive kitty cards so I can't disappoint!

I was inspired by the colour graphic over at Cupcake Inspirations (see below) so I decided to make a smooshed watercolour background with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn). The cute image was a freebie from Cre8ive Hands a while back (thank you!).  By the way, Cre8ive Hands Friends has a brand new challenge so I'll be joining that as well.

With an inkjet printer, it's a bit difficult to do any kind of watercolour with digis as the ink runs as soon as the water touches it.  So I created the background first and then printed the digi.  I paper-pieced the moon with white according to the colour inspiration.

The image was die-cut with Waltingmouse Stamps Scalloped Stitched Rectangle.  I die-cut two smaller Scalloped Stitched Rectangles and then blended Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on each one to coordinate with the watercolour panel.  I did the same for the sentiment with Mowed Lawn and then die-cut the Simon Says Stamp Happy, along with a second die-cut in black.  The stamped greeting is from Simon Says Stamp Happy clear stamps. The watercolour panel is popped up with thin craft foam, and I added a number of green and blue flower sequins.

I would also like to join the following challenges: Aud Sentiments Cute plus Sentiment 2/5; Beccy's Place February AG UE; Craft Your Passion AG 1/3; Craftin Desert Divas Nature's Wonders (moon, flowers, cats) UE; Crafty Calendar Love is in the Air 3/3; Crafty Gals Corner AG 1/2; Creative Inspirations AG Option Sketch UE; Crop Stop Linky Party #13 Distress Inks available at Crop Stop here 3/5; Cute Card Thursday Florals UE; Die-Cut Divas Love, Marriage, Anniversaries 4/4; DL.ART February AG UE 1/day; DL.ART Thankful Thursday Frogs and/or Use Green 1/3; Fan-Tastic Tuesday Include an Animal 1/4; Glitter n Sparkle AG 1/3; Great Impressions Let's Celebrate (anniversary) 1/3; Inspiration Destination AG UE; Just Keep on Creating February AG UE; Lil Patch of Crafty Friends AG 1/3; Little Claire's Love and Marriage 1/3;  Love to Scrap AG 2/3; Lunagirl Moonbeams Love UE; Mod Squad Animal Fun 1/3; Not Just Cards AG UE; Open-Minded Crafting Fun Love/Valentine 2/3; Penny's Paper-Crafty AG 1/3; Robyn's Fetish Stitching Real or Faux 1/3; Scrappy Moms Stamps Out of this World UE; Simon Says Stamp Monday Inspired by a Song (From Here to the Moon and Back by Dolly Parton) 2/5; Simon Says Stamp Wednesday AG 2/5; Simon Says Stamp Work-it Wednesday Floral 1/3; SUYP Cat Love UE; The Corrosive Love, Love, Love 2/3; The Crafter's Cafe Love is in the Air 1/3; The Outlawz Twisted Thursday AG 1/2; The Paper Shelter Animal Magic 1E; Tuesday Throwdown Create Your Own Background 1/3; Wags n Whiskers Furry Friends 1/2; Whimsy Stamps Inspiration AG 3/3; Winter Wonderland Must Use Sentiment 1/3; Word Art Wednesday AG w. Snowman and Cocoa

Hello, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome two new followers - genie and Shawna Standish - so nice to have you here!

Today my card features the Stamp of the Month from From the Heart Stamps called Snowman and Cocoa. I love progressive challenges - I received this digi for free (thank you!) because I participated in last month's challenge!

I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and added Snow Writer to the white parts of his hat and Glossy Accents to the cup of cocoa.  I used gender-neutral colours so my card would be suitable for either a male or female. I was inspired by sketch 140 at i {heart} sketches:

Sketch140

I die-cut the image into a circle with Nellie's Multiframes and layered it onto a Spellbinders Lacey Circle die-cut. The kraft cardstock is embossed with Darice Snowflake Background. The patterned paper was left-over scraps (BoBunny), and actually all of the cardstock used here was in my leftovers bin - I always reach for the snippets before cutting into a new sheet!  The twine is from American Crafts and I added a snowman charm and three silver snowflake sequins.  The sentiment is a cling-mount from Whimsy Stamps Everyday Moments.

Have a Purr-fect Day!

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm featuring some adorable stamps from Jane's Doodles! I recently won a stamp set from Jane, and I chose - you guessed it - Cats! I love this set! Thank you, Jane! This is my first experience with Jane's Doodles and they stamped beautifully! I had a lot of fun making my card!

I started with the background by white heat-embossing several of the smaller images from this set: the food dish, mouse, fish, hearts, paw print, and ball of yarn.  I used the watercolour smooshing technique with Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks. This is such a fun technique, and I love how it turned out!

I added some left-over glitter cardstock scraps (DCWV) to the right edge (I like the scalloped edge of the silver one - it was the leftover negative from Waltzingmouse Stitched Scalloped Rectangles). I coloured the adorable kitty with watercolor markers and fussy-cut so I could pop him up with foam tape. I die-cut a small notebook page (Taylored Expressions) from striped vellum and stamped the sentiment in black.  I finished off the card by adding a crystal paw print and several coordinating sequins.

Hedgie and Cactus Valentine

Hello, everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Paperesse (S. Thomas) - thank you for joining me!

Today I'm sharing a quick Valentine's Day card!  I say quick because I used a pre-coloured image! This adorable hedgie is from The Paper Shelter called How You Doin'. He's getting cozy with the cactus - so cute and fun!  I printed the image on photo paper and mounted it on a dark brown square.

I stamped a sentiment (this is an older wood-mounted stamp by Kolette Hall) with Ancient Page - Chocolate and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils. The kraft panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Cross My Heart and mounted on dark brown cardstock. To finish it off, I added three gold heart sequins.

Hoppy Day Bunny

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a card I made with the February image from Gerda Steiner Designs called Jump Rope Bunny. This is a progressive challenge so I received this image for free because I joined last month's challenge.

I coloured the bunny with Prismacolor pencils and fussy-cut. I made a little scene using a leftover from a previous project (grassy hills die-cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders). The digital sentiment is from Doodle Pantry - Bunny Wabbit. I stamped the word balloon and bird from Lawn Fawn's A Birdie Told Me and then cut with the coordinating dies. I coloured the little bird with Prismacolor pencils as well.

The scene was die-cut with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and mounted with foam tape on a white Scalloped Stitched Rectangle from Waltzingmouse Stamps. Then I layered it onto a  kraft card base, which I embossed with Cuttlebug Simple Flowers. Lastly I embellished with three yellow flower sequins and a blue butterfly sequin.

Winter Deer Scene Shaker

Hello, everyone! Before I share my card, I would like to welcome a new Bloglovin' follower - Kim Venezia - thanks for joining me! Today I'm sharing a winter scene shaker card that I made with all dies, no stamping.  Something a little different for me!

I have been wanting to use my new Paper Temptress cardstock that I won (thank you, Patricia!). It's called Retro Silver Lustre and it is so gorgeous and lush!  I also wanted to use my new Memory Box Woodland Oval again, as well as my new Joycraft Winter word die that I won (thank you, Teresa!).

Inspiration came from the sketch over at Tuesday Throwdown:

I started with the background and inked the sky with Tumbled Glass, Evergreen Bough, and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks and then spritzed with water to add some texture. The snowbanks were die-cut with Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes, and I added a small deer from Impression Obsession. I adhered a number of silver snowflake and star sequins and filled the shaker with tiny silver stars.

On the front of the card, I added Memory Box Leaping Deer in lieu of the circle element of the sketch. Instead of a banner, I added the Winter word, which I die-cut twice to provide some depth. I added three die-cut Memory Box Twilight Snowflakes at the top right corner according to the sketch. Some Crafty Ribbons Swiss Dots ribbon was added along the bottom and a bow at the top. I finished off the card with some aqua sequins, silver snowflake sequins, and silver star sequins.

Inspiration also came from the Looking Forward/Looking Back challenge over at the UnstampaBelles. Here in Canada, winter seems to last forever. So I am looking forward to a few more months of Winter, but I'm also looking back to the previous few months of Winter. As for the twist of Window or Mirror, please see the window of the shaker card.

Guest Designer - Scrap it with a Song

Hello, everybody!  I am excited to announce that I am a Guest Designer over at Scrap it with a Song for February! If you haven't played over there, then you will want to go check it out!

Scrap It With a Song

Each month, there are two songs for inspiration.  It so happens that I enjoy both of the songs for February - they are quite popular here. You can listen to the songs and watch the videos below. I hope you will head over to Scrap it With a Song and check out the challenge - there are cool prizes too!  You can read the rules here. Here are our songs:

Pop Song

Since I am already a big fan of Adele's, I was immediately inspired by the Pop Song and decided to make a Hello card with lots of fun embellishments! It's been a while since I made an embellished card like this so I thought this was a perfect opportunity. You will notice the telephone plays a big part in Adele's song so it features prominently on my card - there are three phones!

I chose one of my favourite telephone images, Hello Kitty from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet, and I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils.  You can see a previous card I made using this image here. I added lots of flowers from my stash (larger ones were from Dollarama, small from second-hand store, and lily won from Scribble and Scrap Crafts, no longer in business).

Die-cuts used are Die-Namites Heart Doily, Cheery Lynn - Flourish Leaf Strips, and Simon Says Stamp - Painted Hello. I added a vintage telephone image from Crafty Secrets - Take it Easy, fussy-cut, and popped up with foam tape. All items are from my stash and most came from the dollar store: Forever in Time patterned paper, green glitter cardstock, gorgeous acrylic butterfly, butterfly punch, ribbon, buttons, American Crafts twine, and tiny telephone and heart charms (the heart charm says "made with love.")

Thank you to Scrap it With a Song for inviting me to be your Guest Designer! I had a lot of fun!
